This was a second attempt to get these ballast wagons north for two jobs. The train was planned to be split at Inverness with some wagons going forward to Garve on the Kyle branch. The other wagons would be used on a job near Rogart on the Far North Line.
But alas the Gods were plotting against them and for the second time the train failed to make it to Inverness. 37605 was clagging heavier than 37218 and during the climb to Druimuachdar 37605 became poorly and expired at Dalnacaroch. Here the train sat for some four hours before it could be rescued and hauled back to Perth. 4/5/2015
It is 9 months since my last visit to photograph within Tayside Region and it is the over bridge at Forteviot that provides the vantage point. 170403 comes by on an overcast afternoon with 1A67 1341 Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen.
