2009 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala rd

Every year on the first weekend after the May Bank Holiday, the Swanage Railway hosts its now famous diesel gala and beer festival. Wall to wall diesel action with visiting locos and the home fleet mixed in with a beer festival. With a weekend of clear skies and constant sunshine and a stunning selection of fine ales, what could be better? 8-10/5/2009

    The sun has returned in time to shine on Peak 45060 working its last round trip of the gala, 2N24 1630 off Swanage to Norden.
    On the walk to Harmans Cross station from the field at Woodyhyde I find a new location, not many left!! 20107 leads 33111 on 2H22 1650 from Norden and it slows for its station stop and turn round. Corfe Castle ruins are visible in the background.
    The train runs into the station at Harmans Cross with the signalbox visible on the right.
