2009 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

Every year on the first weekend after the May Bank Holiday, the Swanage Railway hosts its now famous diesel gala and beer festival. Wall to wall diesel action with visiting locos and the home fleet mixed in with a beer festival.     A busy scene at Norden with the arrival of the shuttle from Harmans Cross hauled by 31108. On the back was 55022 which has been uncoupled and moved well clear of the loop turnout. 33103 has been brought out of the loop and will tie onto the Swanage end of the train and the Deltic will go into the loop.
    33103 leads away another Harmans Cross shuttle, departing Norden at 1050 as train 2H04 with 31108 on the rear. Note the number of people around Norden and on the footpath to Corfe by the crossing.
    Peak 45060 takes five mkI coaches off Corfe Viaduct to Norden with the 1030 Swanage departure to Norden, 2N05.
