2009 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

Every year on the first weekend after the May Bank Holiday, the Swanage Railway hosts its now famous diesel gala and beer festival. Wall to wall diesel action with visiting locos and the home fleet mixed in with a beer festival.     The former ECML type 5 crosses Bridge 21 with a five coach load working on just one Deltic engine.
    After the type 5 (if both engines were running) loco we have the opposite end of the scale and type 1 20107 heads back to Harmans Cross with 2H20, 1610 from Norden.
    This was the second time a train was double headed and both involved 33103. This time it is the train engine with 31108 being the pilot and they are working 2S21 1630 from Norden to Swanage and the end of the working day for the class 31.
