2009 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala rd

Every year on the first weekend after the May Bank Holiday, the Swanage Railway hosts its now famous diesel gala and beer festival. Wall to wall diesel action with visiting locos and the home fleet mixed in with a beer festival. With a weekend of clear skies and constant sunshine and a stunning selection of fine ales, what could be better? 8-10/5/2009

    A quick descent off the hill to the road behind the station and 33103 runs in with 2H08 1210 Norden to Harmans Cross. My first photograph of this loco was at Wareham on 20/2/1985 pushing a Weymouth to Waterloo service. I last photographed it at parked up at Derby in Fragonset livery on 23/7/2007.
    Brush type 2 31108 runs into Corfe station with 2S09 1230 off Norden to Swanage, nicely framed between the up starter and down home semaphores.
    Departing Corfe and heading for Norden is 33111 with sister loco 33103 on the back forming 2N10 1225 from Harmans Cross.
