2009 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala rd

Every year on the first weekend after the May Bank Holiday, the Swanage Railway hosts its now famous diesel gala and beer festival. Wall to wall diesel action with visiting locos and the home fleet mixed in with a beer festival. With a weekend of clear skies and constant sunshine and a stunning selection of fine ales, what could be better? 8-10/5/2009

    The stock was stabled overnight at Harmans, 26007 went light engine from Swanage at 0910 but the WTT doesn't say how 33111 gets to Harmans!!!
    Harmans shuttle 2H02 1010 off Norden crosses the common with 31108 providing the power up the 1 in 80 gradient. Corfe Castle rises above the trees.
    Deltic 55022 returns the train to Norden, 2N04 1025 off Harmans Cross. The loco is showing the correct headcode and has passed below the occupation bridge by the fixed up distant semaphore which used to be pulled from Corfe 'box.
