The sound of the two locos working very hard was quite something, even more so as the sound echoed around the three mountains that come together and are joined by the railway. Time to walk back to the car and move on.
At the junction station of Crianlarich the train makes a servicing and pathing stop. Pilot loco is Ian Riley's Black Five 45407 but carrying the number of long withdrawn sister loco 45157 which was one of just four of the 800 plus locos that carried a name, it was The Glasgow Highlander. The tender is refilled with water and the coal brought forward.
The train loco is NELPeG's K1 62005 which has been renumbered to 62034 which was a Fort William allocated loco. It too is being refilled and coal brought forward.
