Moving a mile or so nearer the summit and I stop to record the train crossing Auch Viaduct, the first of two viaducts on the Horseshoe Curve.
Now the hard work!! 2 1/2 miles of 1 in 55 as the line comes round the lower flank of Beinn Odhar and the locos put out a spectacular exhaust.
Taking the whole scene and putting the railway into context with the landscape and the hard working pair of locos are clearly visible.
