EWS also move containers and call their trains "intermodals" but they do not have as many services as Freightliner. 66076 heads a short service from Southampton Western Docks but its destination is not known. Not even Freightmaster could help me!!
I decided only to photography the mkI units and ignore the modern Desiros this day. 4CIG and 4VEP 1309 and 3456 form class 1 1B26 0755 from Poole to Waterloo. Both sets are in South West Trains livery and 4VEP 3456 was withdrawn after its day's work the following day.
The first of several surprise workings on this day sees 66058 at the head of the Network Rail cable train. It had stabled at Ludgershall on the remaining stub of the former Midland and South Western Railway. Here it forms 6Y41 from Ludgershall to Hoo Junction Up Yard.
