    66114 hammers through Basingstoke with a lone TIA china clay slurry tank on the drawbar.  This featherweight load is 6M44 1246 Eastleigh Yard to Wembley Enterprise.  The tank originated at Quidhampton.
    4VEP 3456 pauses at Basingstoke with 1T38 1151 Portsmouth Harbour to Waterloo. I will board this train to Woking and it turned out to be my last journey on the mainline on a mkI slam door set.
    A brief stop was made at Woking for some location variety.  Tucked away in a station siding are South West Trains two class 73 electro diesel thunderbird rescue locos.  They are 73109 in InterCity livery and newly repainted 73235 in SWT colours.
