377316 has the road away from the very basic station, heading for Brighton. A beautiful morning that would last well into the day.
A pair of class 377 Electrostar units run into the tiny station at Berwick, Sussex with a class 1 working, 1F27 0922 Hastings to London Victoria. The sets are 377101 and 377146. All visible signals are off but the 'box is switched in.
The pair departs Berwick station pasisng the starter signal which is worked by an electric motor rather than the more usual wire pull. This is a safety feature which would automatically replace the signal if there was a train in the section ahead (so I was told by the signalman).
