377147 works 2D21 0954 Brighton to hastings class 2 service. It passes Berwick's down home signal on a post built, in Southern Railway style, using two former rails bolted together.
The signalman is quick off the mark and has replaced the starter signal, he did so even before the end of the four coach set had passed it. The 1879 built former London, Brighton and South Coast Railway signalbox is one of the oldest still in use on the network.
An invite into the 'box by the young, enthusiastic signalman had to be taken up. 377145 is viewed from the 'box steps with a non stop service 2D65 1024 Brighton to Hastings.
