Oakenshaw and Healey Mills

Day three in North Yorkshire and I head west into West Yorkshire and an overbridge over the line south of Wakefield. It is predominately freight with an hourly passenger service thrown in. The overbridge turned out to be a busy place during the morning with rail traffic AND photographers!! I also made a short trip out to Healey Mills depot and yard to see what was about. A good day. 9/8/2006

I do not know if the vans are empty or loaded, the BDA and RRA flats at the rear are certainly empty.
The second GBRf working of the day is running several hours late and I was the only person on the bridge. 66714 powers 4M91 1314 Cottam or West Burton power station to Newbiggin loaded gypsum containers.
Just visible in the background is the turnout for the link line to the Monk Bretton branch. The signal protects the junction and the feathers are for the up goods loop just beyond. 66531 approaches.
