  • High Street signalbox was built by the Great Northern Railway and opened in 1874. There is an extension on the west side, added in 1925, to improve the operation of the level crossing right beside the 'box. It was fitted with a thirty six lever frame and closed, like East Holmes, on the 18th July 2008. And like East Holmes it is a listed Grade II structure and still stands.

  • A slight change of viewpoint and 170113 passes East Holmes signalbox with 2E69 1232 off Leicester to Lincoln.
East Holmes was built by the Great Northern Railway and opened in May 1873. East Holmes is unusual in having a lower tier of operating room windows to improve the signalman's view along the line, a feature which is quite rare on Great Northern Railway Signal Boxes, they have now been obscured. In 1910 the original lever frame was replaced with a 35 lever McKenzie and Holland frame. The box closed on the 19th July 2008, but is still standing and is a Grade II listed building.
