The reason for being out on a wet evening was hot on the tail lights of the sprinter. 66105 runs in with 6X88 0538 Hartlepool to Inverness loaded pipes. The train will work forward to Georgemas later the next day.
The driver was slowly running towards a red signal but as I turned round for this shot I notice the aspect has changed to a single yellow and left hand feather for the loop to wait for the service train to clear the section signal at Newburgh. As it happened the train ran right through the loop and didn't have to wait.
