Class 2 local working 2L69 1719 Edinburgh to Dundee via the Fife Circle slows for its station stop with 170428 and 158741. For a good many years back in the 1980's and early 1990's 2L69 ran to Perth and was one of two trains a day over the Newburgh branch. Now there is an hourly service to Perth and the Inverness trains come this way too. In recent years 2L69 was one of the two loco hauled Fife Circle trains running only to Cardenden (for some bizarre reason) but it has been extended to Dundee for the Golf.
After the station stop the pair get away. The signal shows a green aspect and feathers to the right. Before the junction remodelling the previous year, the signal had two left hand feathers, hard left for the loop and left for the branch and no feathers for the main line. Now it is the left feather for the loop, no feather for the branch and right feather for the mainline.
170415 comes in and passes through the station with 1B43 1638 off Inverurie to Edinburgh. 18/7/2015
