This is the train my wife usually catches from Edinburgh to Kirkcaldy where it terminates then runs empty to Perth with a 20 minute wait in Thornton Loop. But during the golf it has been extended to Dundee, so 158736 works 2K41 1711 Edinburgh to Dundee. 18/7/2015
The weather this day promised to be much better than the previous so I returned to the same spot as the sun favoured the up trains here. 68006 is lit to perfection as it brings 1Z20 1757 Leuchars to Edinburgh round the 40mph curve at Ladybank.
The sun glints off the No1 end cab of 68006 "Daring" in ScotRail livery. This was the last shot of the 2015 Open Golf specials as, like the previous day, the competition was running very late and the second loco hauled train ran late also.
