Colton Junction and Church Fenton

Week two of the 2006 summer tour and this part of the world is well known to me as I used to live at nearby RAF Church Fenton in the mid 1980's and never wanted to leave. The half Yorkshireman in me had a yearning to stay, but the RAF had other ideas and I did get moved away. This was however a great day on an old stomping ground and I relished the traction but wished I could be back in 1985.......with my digital camera. Sigh!!! 7/8/2006

    With short trains using long platforms it means parts of the platform is now fences off and is not maintained.  I have previously stood at the far end of this platform to photograph the steam hauled Scarborough Spa Expresses back in the mid 1980's.
    Oh for a non ETH Peak with a scratch set of 10 mkI coaches on an additional off Scarborough. Instead 158753 passes by with 1B42 1810 York to Blackpool North.
    The toy dog and its owner have had a PNB at Leeds and now work their way back north. An unknown class 221 set forms 1S84 1225 Plymouth to Glasgow Central.
