Colton Junction and Church Fenton

Week two of the 2006 summer tour and this part of the world is well known to me as I used to live at nearby RAF Church Fenton in the mid 1980's and never wanted to leave. The half Yorkshireman in me had a yearning to stay, but the RAF had other ideas and I did get moved away. This was however a great day on an old stomping ground and I relished the traction but wished I could be back in 1985.......with my digital camera. Sigh!!! 7/8/2006

    Bringing the lens out and the line to Normanton curves slightly to the left as it passes through Church Fenton station.
    220020 speeds towards Church Fenton on the Up Leeds road working 1V72 1405 Edinburgh to Plymouth cross country service. Note the additional passenger in the cab!
    220020 passes through the station on the through road and will get a good run and Garforth Bank just round the corner.
