Service 1H09 is the 1010 Glasgow Queen Street to Inverness working and is formed by turbostar 170393. The down signal sits on a gantry which still retains a small shunting arm PJ11 for the short branch to the factory on the east side of the line. The branch is disused and the crossing disconnected. Signal PJ22 is off for the unit. A colliery branch also came off here on the west side of the line about where the unit is.
The daily HST working from Inverness to Kings Cross passes by with 43119 and 43115 providing the traction for 1E12 0755 Inverness to Kings Cross GNER working. The morning was lovely and sunny but bitterly cold in the wind.
Moving up to Stirling now and OK this shot does NOT include any semaphores but I can not ignore a non passenger working. 66085 brings four filthy vans south of Stirling station with 5D03 MX 0927 Aberdeen to Mossend empty vans. The site of Stirling's steam shed is behind the train on the right.
