    Central Trains 158852 approaches Chinley from the west with an unknown working to Sheffield that is not booked to stop. Note the expanse between the running lines indicating the size of the station that once stood here.
    A three car sprinter 158812 passes through with 1L26 1452 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich. Chinley was once a large station with five through platforms and one bay at the east end. There was a large goods yard to the south and a turntable too at the east end.
    Turning round for the going away shot and 158812 passes where the Chinley East signalbox was situated on the left just before the wall.
