The preserved round house loco shed at Barrow Hill is the setting for an LNER themed gala with a varied selection of locos from the former London and North Eastern Railway stable. I was there, with my son Ross, as R.O. for A4 pacific 60009 Union of South Africa. 3/4/2009

    This Romney, Hythe and Dimchurch Railway loco is very similar in appearance to the A1 Tornado. This loco carries the name Typhoon, also an aircraft, and was given the number 60164.
    Another minimum gauge loco is this unnumbered 04 lookalike.
    Back out in the yard and the pacifics on parade have been re-positioned. 60163 now catches the afternoon sun.
