The preserved round house loco shed at Barrow Hill is the setting for an LNER themed gala with a varied selection of locos from the former London and North Eastern Railway stable. I was there, with my son Ross, as R.O. for A4 pacific 60009 Union of South Africa. 3/4/2009

    A4's 60007 and 60009 stand next to each other.
    A1 60163, A2 60532 and A4 60007. Someone has put a smouldering rag in the smokebox of the A2.
    An impressive line up of former LNER locos, classes A1, A2, A4 and K1. It was a real shame that A3 4472 Flying Scotsman was not available.
