  • A northbound GNER working to Glasgow Central comes sweeping round the bend by Spittal with 91127 leading 1S13 1100 off Kings Cross.  The scene here is in full sun whilst Berwick Law is in deep shadow.

  • Despite the loco running almost to time, all is not well.  Just after the Doncaster stop one engine stopped working and it was discovered that it had "put a leg out of bed" and a piston had gone through the crank case.  It was decided to keep going on just the one engine.

  • A side on shot of 55022.  At Edinburgh 40145 was waiting to take the tour forward to Inverness.  The original plan was to top and tail with the class 55 and 40 but 55022 came off and 47245 which was on the back took the place of the Deltic going onto Inverness.
