Tug Fest in the Peak District III.....Even less so rd

A further return to the Peak District for a couple of days to lookout new locations around Peak Forest, Great Rocks and for the first time Buxton and the quarries beyond. I was not to be disappointed. 9+10/7/2007

Less than 15 minutes after 66021 passed by, 66025 runs south on the former UP line now bi-directional to Buxton. It is working 6H57 1236 Ashburys to Dowlow empty boxes.
Walking over the hill that Great Rocks tunnel runs through and this sight greets the eye. 66021 emerges from the sidings in Lower Tunstead Yard situated in an old part of the quarry. Note the height of the quarry face in the background.
60021 slowly draws its train, 6H96 1500 Tunstead to Bredbury loaded stone hoppers, out of the yard and passes one of the quarry shunting locos used to move the wagons about during loading.
