Tug Fest in the Peak District III.....Even less so

A further return to the Peak District for a couple of days to lookout new locations around Peak Forest, Great Rocks and for the first time Buxton and the quarries beyond. I was not to be disappointed. 9+10+11/7/2007

Returning to Peak Forest and 60035 reverses its empty RMC hoppers into the quarry sidings. This is the late running 6M11 0830 TWFO Washwood Heath to Peak Forest empty hoppers.
With its wagons safely parked up in the quarry sidings, 60035 comes out to go onto the stabling point. The sun has made a rare appearance!
The driver of 60040 brings his train to an almost halt to allow the shunter to jump down. Then he will power up the Mirrlees 8MB275T 3100hp powerplant to lift the 24 loaded JEA hoppers, several thousand tonnes in weight, up the steep 1 in 90 gradient.
