2019 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

The annual Swanage Diesel Gala cannot be missed - Resistance is Futile! So Ross and I boldly went where we always go, to Wareham for a weekend of family, friends and fun. It would be rude not to go so we can't have that.
A weekend of stunning weather and another first for the Railway, a visit by a class 59, but for the third time class 44 peak D4 failed to arrive.

    At Norden 50007/14 has run round and takes the train back to Swanage as 1N19 1815 Norden to Swanage. The "hoover" passes the fixed distant signal so the driver can expect the next signal to be against him or her.
    The last shot of the weekend with 26007 on the back of the last train. With one exception every train this day has been photographed in FULL sun, what a day. A great weekend with just one disappointment, the failure of Peak 44004. Due to the Covid pandemic the 2020 and 2021 galas were cancelled but it is hoped the 2022 gala will go ahead. Fingers crossed.
