2019 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

The annual Swanage Diesel Gala cannot be missed - Resistance is Futile! So Ross and I boldly went where we always go, to Wareham for a weekend of family, friends and fun. It would be rude not to go so we can't have that.
A weekend of stunning weather and another first for the Railway, a visit by a class 59, but for the third time class 44 peak D4 failed to arrive.

    On the return to Swanage now and the class 2 is hard at work with four mkI coaches, a Pullman observation coach and a class 33 on the drawbar. The loco passes over the bridge over Grange Road.
    The afternoon sun shines perfectly on the side of the train which is 1R11 1432 off the River Frome to Swanage climbing hard.
    The class 26 and 33 are both from the Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company and are nearly identical in equipment and appearance, just the centre windscreen being the main difference.
