2019 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

The annual Swanage Diesel Gala cannot be missed - Resistance is Futile! So Ross and I boldly went where we always go, to Wareham for a weekend of family, friends and fun. It would be rude not to go so we can't have that.
A weekend of stunning weather and another first for the Railway, a visit by a class 59, but for the third time class 44 peak D4 failed to arrive.

But a problem with the cement saw the hole being filled in and track temporarily put back.

  • The format of the gala is different this year with trains running to the River Frome and locos coming off and on at Corfe Castle. Also Norden is only being served by trains to and from the River Frome except for the very first train and the last one before the beer trains start running. So here is D6515 with 1N01 0948 Norden to Swanage. I think Ross and I got on this for the run to Swanage and then to the River Frome.
