2019 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

The annual Swanage Diesel Gala cannot be missed - Resistance is Futile! So Ross and I boldly went where we always go, to Wareham for a weekend of family, friends and fun. It would be rude not to go so we can't have that.
A weekend of stunning weather and another first for the Railway, a visit by a class 59, but for the third time class 44 peak D4 failed to arrive.

    More Sulzer thrash now as 26007 makes another trip out of Swanage for the network boundary at Bridge 4 over the River Frome. Hmmm that head at the window has an air of familiarity about it. This train is 1R14 1539 from Swanage.
    The Pullman observation coach attracts a £1 supplement fare. I have travelled in it once and paid the £1 and that has been the ONLY time I have paid to travel on the railway despite hundreds of trips. Being a Premier Life Member means I enjoy unlimited free travel.
    My suspicions confirmed, my eldest brother Danny taking in the Sulzer thrash, he loves it! :-)
