2019 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

The annual Swanage Diesel Gala cannot be missed - Resistance is Futile! So Ross and I boldly went where we always go, to Wareham for a weekend of family, friends and fun. It would be rude not to go so we can't have that.
A weekend of stunning weather and another first for the Railway, a visit by a class 59, but for the third time class 44 peak D4 failed to arrive.

    When I saw this loco in 1989 it was in Railfreight livery with coal subsector markings.
    The Barrow Hill based type 2 will be staying on at Swanage for a few months after the gala to cover for D6515 which was booked off the branch for several mainline tours.
    50007 has come off the back of 26007's train and has run to the south end of the station loop as it shunts from the down main line into the up loop to gain access to the up yard..
