2019 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

The annual Swanage Diesel Gala cannot be missed - Resistance is Futile! So Ross and I boldly went where we always go, to Wareham for a weekend of family, friends and fun. It would be rude not to go so we can't have that.
A weekend of stunning weather and another first for the Railway, a visit by a class 59, but for the third time class 44 peak D4 failed to arrive.

    A quick move to the next crossing at nearby Motala and visiting "rat" D7535 kicks up a fuss with 1R06 1139 Swanage to River Frome. The wonderful type 2 puts out an exhaust on the rising 1 in 80 gradient from its Sulzer 6LDA28-B 1,250hp powerplant.
    The previous day D6515 carried the small SULZER headboard, today D7535 is adorned with it, both classes being Sulzer powered.
