2014 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

Once more Ross and I venture south to sunny Dorset and a weekend of pure indulgence of wall to wall diesel traction on the Swanage branch at their annual Diesel Gala. Oh and also to see my parents, elder brother and loads of mates.....and drink some beer. Well it would be rude not to!!

    The train passes over the site of the former level crossing, replaced by the road bridge beyond, a foot crossing currently remains in place. Also visible is a leading crossover put in place for Swanage trains to run into the down yard when services start running to Wareham, but the foot crossing has to be closed first and the footbridge altered and that is proving problematic and still not happened in 2023.
    33029 and the 4TC set takes the crossover onto the up road and the 2014 Swanage Diesel Gala has come to an end. 11/5/2014
