2014 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

Once more Ross and I venture south to sunny Dorset and a weekend of pure indulgence of wall to wall diesel traction on the Swanage branch at their annual Diesel Gala. Oh and also to see my parents, elder brother and loads of mates.....and drink some beer. Well it would be rude not to!!

    The mainline registered type 4 is immaculate in Network South East livery and is a real credit to the owners. I never managed a photo of this loco in BR service but did see it as I cleared my class 50's.
    Looking down to the station from Schools Crossing and 41001 with 50031 are parked up. Up and down trains are at the platforms with 33202 on the down service.
    Crossing back onto the sunward side of the line at Schools and narrow bodied 33202 powers away and passes the down starter signal with 2S17 1515 Norden to Swanage. The narrow body is visible here, being 18 centimetres less than the normal locos. This allowed them to run on the restricted Tonbridge to Battle line.
