2014 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

Once more Ross and I venture south to sunny Dorset and a weekend of pure indulgence of wall to wall diesel traction on the Swanage branch at their annual Diesel Gala. Oh and also to see my parents, elder brother and loads of mates.....and drink some beer. Well it would be rude not to!!

    The embankment is clear and free of vegetation and bushes which keeps down the fire risk and makes for a clear shot.
    The sun has moved round and is perfect for trains on this side of the line for well into the afternoon. Time for a move.
    Moving down the line to Harmans Cross and star of the gala 5081 brings its six coach train, 2N14 1300 Swanage to Norden towards the station still climbing at 1 in 76 to the summit of the line at Harmans Cross.
