2014 Swanage Railway Diesel Gala

Once more Ross and I venture south to sunny Dorset and a weekend of pure indulgence of wall to wall diesel traction on the Swanage branch at their annual Diesel Gala. Oh and also to see my parents, elder brother and loads of mates.....and drink some beer. Well it would be rude not to!!

    Next in the down direction is 50026 with 2S07 1130 Norden to Swanage. A confused sky has the middle ground lit but the fore and back ground are in shadow.
    Six coaches is not much for the 2,700hp type 4 class 50 even though it is climbing at 1 in 80 here. Many heads at the windows are taking in the thrash.
    For duck's sake what is going on here?? At least nine ducks are in the long grass on the common enjoying the passing trains I bet!!
