Ross and I had a superb day at the Imperial War Museum Duxford 20 odd years after our first visit. The sound of warbirds flying all day just added to the atmosphere. The vehicles in the Land Warfare building are in the Military Vehicles folder. 10/5/2022

    The main undercarriage is two pairs fore and aft on the fuselage with wing tip retracatable stablisers. All four pairs of wheels steer for taxying manouevreability. Also to assist with crosswind takeoffs and landings the main landing gear can be pivoted 20 degrees to either side from neutral. This yaw adjustable crosswind landing gear would be preset by the crew according to wind observations made on the ground.
    This gives some idea at just how cramped the building is with aircraft all around, over and underneath the B52.
    The SPAD S.XIII is a French biplane fighter aircraft of the First World War, developed by Société Pour L'Aviation et ses Dérivés (SPAD) from the earlier and highly successful SPAD S.VII. This replica SPAD was built in Germany and flown in the United Kingdom since 1978. It was placed in the Fleet Air Arm museum in 1986 and transferred to Duxford in 1996. Painted as S.4513 to represent an aircraft flown in 1918 by Captain Rickenbacker with the United States Army Air Service in France.
